Welcome brothers and sisters to the new Branch 524 website! I have created this website as a way of reaching out to our members and providing another place for news and resources relating to local union activities. I have purchased (with my own money) this domain for one year, after that I am willing to relinquish the domain and financial responsibility of it to the branch if they so desire. I would ask that all members try out this website for themselves to see if it is worth having.

Food Drive May 9th!

Bags and Cards have been ordered and should be showing up soon at post offices across the branch. We are once again going to be collaborating with Feeding Southwest Virginia. If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to reach out to the branch.

One Battle Ends, Another Just Begins.

Thanks to a recent Pre-Arbitration Award on March 12, 2026, roughly 133 Carriers in the Roanoke Installation from the Carrier Annex, Hollins Station and Cave Spring Post Office will each be receiving $180.00 before standard deductions. This was the result of a massive class-action grievance filed by Carrier Annex Shop Steward Tyler Webb due to management arbitrarily changing Carrier's Start times.

Now, Branch 524 is gearing up for another battle; the improperly adjusted routes at the Roanoke Carrier Annex. It's no secret that the decision to remove five full-time assignments was both heavy-handed and reckless. Now that carriers have had some time to adjust to these beastly routes, management cannot leverage the argument that "carriers are just not used to their new assignments". Now that's not to say that management won't utilize every twisted technique up their sleeve to avoid correcting this disaster that they have manufactured. The fact of the matter is that Route Count and Inspections are massive, costly endeavors for the Postal Service and management does not want to jeopardize the results of them when they work in their favor. The bottom line is, get ready for a fight.
